Sexual Health Clinic

JASMYN’s goal is to minimize health disparities and increase access to medical care among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth between the ages of 13-29 by offering onsite STD and HIV services on the JASMYN campus.  Our primary focus is for youth that identify as LGBT that may not feel safe or get the practical information they need from a more traditional clinic.

JASMYN’s Sexual Health Clinic offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL HIV and STD testing, counseling, education, treatment and linkage for youth 13-29 years old. We have on-site medical and clinical staff in a safe and supportive environment.

JASMYN’s Clinic is offered every Thursday from 4-8:00 PM.  Check our program calendar for dates. Doors open at 4pm. Last appointment is generally taken around 7pm. First come first serve. Please call if you have questions.

At JASMYN’s clinic you can access:

  • STD testing (Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia)
  • STD treatment and or linkage to other community resources
  • PrEP
  • Rapid HIV Testing and counseling using Clearview blood tests that can be read in 20 minutes
  • Education and Linkages to other community services

JASMYN supports youth through all stages of testing and linkage. We are here to help and support you. If you have a reactive result we will help you navigate the health care system. We will take every measure to get you the information and resources you need. We understand how scary this can be and we are here for you.

Youth Rights for sexual health, STD and HIV testing and treatment

Youth ages 13 and up have the right to confidential testing, treatment and information as it relates to sexual health, STD and HIV without their parents consent or permission. This means we will only talk with a parent if a youth gives us prior written permission.

Parent involvement

The only way we will talk with your parent is if you give us prior written permission. We are happy to talk with your parent or guardian if you give us permission and often we know it helps to have your parent involved. But this is your choice, not ours.

STD Results

If you have a positive result we will call you to set up an appointment to tell you your result and also help you get linked to treatment. We do NOT talk about the specifics of an STD over the phone (for confidentiality). It is very important that you make every effort to meet with as soon as possible. If we are not able to get a hold of you and meet with you, you will be contacted by the Florida Department of Health; Disease Interventions Specialist. They will call you or come and find you. They too will maintain your confidentiality to your parent or guardian.

If all of your results come in negative we will not contact you. It is okay for you to contact us. We are happy to provide you with a copy of your negative results.
