Gender Connections

Gender Connections is a group designed by JASMYN youth and facilitated by JASMYN staff. JASMYN youth have a space to discuss gender and how it affects their lives. Topics include: safety, gender identity, transitioning, gender non-conformity, gender variance, family, support, rejection, stigma, homophobia and culture to name just a few.

Gender Connections spends time discussing how youth lives are affected by societal expectations on what it means to be male or female and how that translates into all experiences and relationships.

Gender Connection uses media, art, poetry, story-telling and collaging to understand the depth of gender and how it intersects with our life and in our communities. Gender Connection facilitators can also provide individual support and can help find resources that may be helpful for specific to youth situations.  Gender Connections is not run every month at JASMYN please check out our calendar for the next
